British Canoeing Sea Kayak Leader Training. 2021 Dates
Sea Kayak Leader training courses in 2021 are now listed.
The British Canoeing (B.C) Sea Kayak Leader award changes in January 2021. Candidates no longer need to attend a sea kayak leader training before going to the assessment.
However, the new sea kayak leader assessment now requires candidates to demonstrate leadership and organisation skills and to be able to operate with the British Canoeing leadership model.
Attending our Sea kayak leader training course will give you a better understanding of what to expect on your assessment. Our aim is to tune up your paddling and leadership skills. All participants will leave with an action plan and the option to receive mentoring and feedback. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to lead and paddle in moderate water conditions around the fantastic coastline of Jersey so you’ll add extra leadership logbook hours to your portfolio of experience.
Dates of our Sea Kayak Leader training courses are here.
Most of our Sea Kayak Leader training courses are of two days duration. Add extra days to complete the prerequisite B.C Coastal Navigation & Tidal Planning (CNTP) course and perhaps a British Canoeing Guide training module.
Additional dates can be arranged. Email us to arrange 1:1 bespoke training days.
There is also the option to sing up for our Jersey Kayak Trail 5 day courses either as a participant or, to be an assistant leader. Many paddlers may find this option an excellent way to be actively involved in the organisation and leadership of a group of experienced sea kayakers with plenty of opportunities to get handy hints, tips and feedback.
