Exploring the coastline of Jersey.

With good weather arriving and the sea getting warmer, this is a great time to sign up for one of our introduction to kayaking courses.

During the 5 classes, we’ll explore different parts of the beautiful coastline of Jersey each week. Develop your kayak skills to have fun afloat this summer. Discover our hidden island while paddling with our expert instructors who know about the coastal wildlife and history that makes our courses more than a paddle in a bay.

All equipment is supplied. Novices are welcome. £212.50. If you have your own kayak and gear, there is a discount.

Thursdays June 3 – July 1, 0930 – 1200

Sundays June 6- July 4, 0930 – 1200

Sundays July 25 – August 22, 0930-1200

Sundays Sept 12 – October 16, 0930-1200

Custom and one-day introduction to kayaking courses can also be arranged.

About derek

Derek Hairon is a British Canoeing level 5 coach (sea) and sea kayak leader guide and assessor.
Derek is the first nationally endorsed British Canoeing accredited guide in Jersey. The British Canoeing kayak guide endorsement supports and recognises the additional skills required when fulfilling a guiding role on sea kayak tours and expeditions worldwide.
Over 49 years of sea kayaking experience. Expeditions to circumnavigate Ireland by kayak, Outer Hebrides, Aland Islands, Faeroe Islands and Alaska. Plus, lots of sea and surf kayaking in the UK. White water-kayaking expeditions in Nepal to paddle the Tamur and Marsyandi Rivers.
Derek wrote Sit-on-top Kayak. A Beginner’s Manual (Pesda Press). It is now in its second reprint and is also translated into French. He is the author of the Channel Island and South East Coast Sea Kayaking guidebook (Pesda Press).
